Dr. Hester Young is motivational speaker, certified life coach, author of course text and personal development books, career development consultant, career and internship professor, and internship researcher, and former assistant dean. Dr. Young worked in higher education as an assistant dean, professor, and administrator in student services. Dr. Young received her BS in Workforce Education and Development, MA in Human Resource Development, and Ed. D. in Higher Education Leadership. Under her leadership, several “first” programs were initiated to bring the university national recognition. The Career Center has ranked in the top ten in the nation for student placement in the private liberal arts category. She has been one of 35 Career Development Professionals in the country to be invited to the University of Oxford, Oxford, England, to participate in a Round Table Discussion for three consecutive years. She has also been invited to be a Career Development Delegate to China by the American Counseling Association and National Career Development Association. Dr. Young has delivered local and national conference presentations, and served as a career development columnist, served on numerous university and community committees, boards, and served as career development consultant for local television. Her greatest joy is to support women through transition and to witness the process of career and personal restoration.
