Bio

As a law enforcement officer, Bruce Champagne has completed assignments as a patrol and investigations supervisor, tactical team Executive Officer and operator, defensive tactics instructor, and training coordinator. Champagne has previous and direct experience in investigations (supervision/case management- violent crimes, criminal gangs, officer involved shootings and uses of force, sex offenses, narcotics, domestic violence, and property crimes) and problem -oriented policing units. Champagne completed the National Police Corps Leadership Development School, was a National Police Recruitment panelist in Washington D.C., a National Gang Prevention/Intervention Programming panelist in Atlanta, GA., and a former President of the West Valley Police Fraternal Order of Police Lodge.

Champagne is a certified firearms, collapsible baton, O.C. spray, P.O.S.T. Defensive Tactics/Arrest Control, Krav Maga (law enforcement and civilian), and S.P.E.A.R. system instructor, and maintains other certifications in addition to his Force Science Analyst certification. As a court-recognized criminal gang and human performance factors expert, Champagne has provided presentations and instruction at multiple training conferences and colleges/universities. Champagne was a previous president of the Utah Tactical Officers Association, Utah Gang Investigators Association, Utah Forensic Divers Association, and a published author in the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association Journal (ILEETA).
