Bio

Change is the only one constant in life and I love to embrace change. From a background in education via various roles in large IT power houses (I actually did the entire track from developer to senior marketing officer) I have come a long way and this is definitely not the end yet.

I'm hands on and like to get things moving. When the going gets tough, I get in second gear and I really thrive where others may give up in desperation.

I like to ignite others with my energy and enthusiasm which is why I went back to teaching and coaching as a second (but equally important) job.

Destructive to Productive – Making Teams Work

We like to think that groups/teams outperform individuals, yet there is more to it than that to make a team positive, efficient and performing. It is more than luck and "chemistry", although it may prove very hard to put our fingers on what is causing this. I shed some light on common pitfalls of teams and possibilities to create true "dream-teams".

Intercultural Flexibility - staying critical and humane in the global mosh pit.

The world is at our feet, we rejoice in the many flavors of foreign foods, exotic drinks and music types. Yet, when it comes to understanding the differences in human behavior we either hide in fear from anything "other" or over-indulge in acceptance of differences. The recent migrant/refugee crisis has once again proven that fear is often the result: either fear of the flood of new people, or fear of saying/thinking anything which might be considered a prejudice or worse: racist.
During my talk I share how we can stay open for others without losing ourselves, starting by trying to understand where differences come from. This knowledge will help us better understand where prejudices, stereotypes and fears come from and why these aren't necessarily bad. Better understanding can lead to preventing potential pitfalls and misunderstandings by openly addressing them and figuring out a way to work with them rather than ignoring the elephant in the room or even letting things implode.

Intercultural Business Dynamics

This talk is a compilation of topics from the areas of group/team behavior, entrepreneurship and intercultural communication. I call it "Intercultural Business Dynamics" .
It will give participants insight about the magic that makes businesses thrive in an international context - whether as a one-(wo)man show, or as a large corporation - understanding differences in approaches to things like decision making, negotiating and conflict resolution go a very long way.

Pitching for Success

If you want to learn how to address a message that sticks with your audience, if you want to understand how to pitch to an audience of investors and if you want to make your message memorable and valuable to that audience, this is the seminar you need. Firstly, you will learn how to build up and create a pitch around 1 single message, then you’ll also learn the difference between a sales pitch and an investment pitch, you’ll also learn some techniques to improve your delivery and finally you’ll get the chance to test your ability to create and deliver a perfect pitch.

Everything Is Story – Finding the Hero Within

In this talk, I show the audience the difference between a list of events and story. With this premise, it becomes easier for an audience to understand how stories are built and how, when you look more closely, everything contains the seeds of a story. Or rather: Everything Is Story.
Many people think that their lives are average, that their jobs are very much only about facts and figures, about numbers, products and services. Yet, when we look a bit closer, even the most boring list of bullets can contain the kernel of a story. With lots of examples, I will show people how any set of events can be turned into a hero story. I will uncover the mystery of zoom: zooming in or zooming out to uncover either the micro- or the meta-story. When you walk home after this talk, you will already begin to see things, and yourself, with different eyes.
