Engaging Emotionally Intelligent Team

Building inclusion and community among teams is key in helping them to collaborate, work through conflict and become productive colleagues. When teams develop their emotional intelligence skills they will apply them to all that they do.

In this workshop participants will:

Examine emotional intelligence in the workplace;
Consider their own emotional intelligence skills;
Learn how to read emotional information in others;
Discover emotionally intelligent ways to build inclusion and community with teams;
Assess their own community inclusion:
Develop a community plan for moving forward.

Building Inclusive Teams Through Personality Dimensions

Everyone is unique with their own values, strengths, joys and stressors. Understanding each other builds strong foundations for all of our personal and professional relationships. However, as John Gottman explains, conflict is inevitable. When people have deep knowledge of each other, conflict is unlikely to escalate. Personality Dimensions provides a foundation for solid communication and strategies for building a strong community.

In this workshop participants will:

Understand their own strengths and weaknesses;
Recognize and understand the strengths and preferences of others;
Learn ways to improve communication and interpersonal relationships;
Realize that our differences are “gifts’ and not faults;
Make connections to emotional intelligence;
Develop a plan for moving forward in working with others.

Exploring Individual Emotional Intelligence

“Emotional intelligence is the largest single predictor of success in our lives.” ~Daniel Goleman~
Research shows that, for jobs of all kinds, emotional intelligence is twice as important an ingredient of outstanding performance as cognitive ability and technical skill combined…as much as 80% of adult success comes from EQ.”
In this workshop, participants will:
• Explore the components of emotional intelligence;
• Examine emotional intelligence in the world;
• Consider their own emotional intelligence skills;
• Discover ways of improving emotional intelligence skills;
• Make connections between emotional intelligence and personal and professional relationships.

Beginning a Mindfulness Practice

“Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally.” ~Jon Kabat-Zinn
The skills of mindfulness are invaluable for leaders and their teams as they discover how to lead from the heart and their inner wisdom. The practices of mindfulness are directly connected to increased emotional intelligence and stress management. In today’s world, this practice is needed now more than ever as we navigate a very stressful landscape.
In this workshop, participants will learn:
• The science behind mindfulness;
• Mindfulness in the workplace;
• A variety of mindfulness practices that can be immediately applied;
• The connection between mindfulness and emotional intelligence.
