This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Do Steve Jobs and Nelson Mandela have anything extraordinary in common? SECRETS AND STRENGTHS IN YOUR CHILDS’ HANDWRITING: By an award-winning high school teacher and certified handwriting analyst

In one case, Jamie observed that a student on the verge of expulsion for violent behavior had untapped creativity. This discovery led to Jamie working with this student to encourage his latent talents. The young man became the school’s top media student, an accomplished videographer and a role model to younger students. In another instance, Jamie identified that a student who demonstrated extreme social introverted behavior and wrote poems about self-harm demonstrated a high level of analytical ability and attention to detail in her writing. Once Jamie recognized these traits in her school notes, he worked with this student in finding her a place in the school resulting in her becoming a key contributing member of Student Council.
