Mrs. Alicia Ramsey is a native of Elyria, Ohio. Mrs. Ramsey graduated from Elyria West High School in 1989. Mrs. Ramsey attended the University of Akron, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education in 1993. After moving to Indianapolis in 1995, she furthered her education at Indiana University and received her master's degree in Educational Leadership in 2005. Mrs. Ramsey graduated with a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Regent University in May 2022. She is also a certified Life Balance, Success, and Career Coach with the International Coaching Federation.
Mrs. Ramsey's fifteen-year academic tenure includes being a middle school teacher, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, and Principal in the Metropolitan School District of Perry Township. She maximized her tenure in Perry Township as the Clinton Young Elementary School and Perry Meridian 6th Grade Academy Principal. In 2002, Mrs. Ramsey was the first African American female elected to the school board in MSD. Pike Township for a four-year term. In June 2009, she decided to make a life change for her family, and she resigned from her position as Principal of Clinton Young Elementary School to work with her husband in full-time ministry.
Mrs. Ramsey has taken her professional experience and currently serves alongside her husband, Pastor John F. Ramsey Sr. as the Executive Pastor of Operations at New Life Worship Center Church in Indianapolis, IN. Mrs. Ramsey founded Women of Excellence in 2005, a non-profit ministry that empowers through self-help seminars, events, and workshops.
After giving birth to a son in 2001 with severe special needs, Mrs. Ramsey began advocating for her son and others. She participates in many discussion panels, does motivational speaking, and advocates for families of special needs children. Alicia served on the Governor's Council for People with Developmental Disabilities and Best Buddies for Indiana. In 2018, Mrs. Ramsey began serving on the advisory board for The Genious School, an Innovation School in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Mrs. Ramsey founded Alicia Ramsey Consulting in 2018. AR Consulting is an independent coaching and consulting firm that provides career coaching and leadership development. Mrs. Ramsey also launched the She Words podcast in 2020, which shares motivational messages on motherhood, marriage, and mentorship.
Alicia enjoys watching movies, traveling, and spending quality time with her family in her free time. Mrs. Ramsey and her husband, John, enjoy spending quality time with their two sons, John Jr. (25yrs), who is a fifth-grade elementary school teacher in Indianapolis, Jeremiah David (21yrs.), and their baby girl Judah Maree (13 yrs).
