Yeng Chang

Yeng Chang is a family doctor, professor, speaker, and hideously terrible skier.

Over time, unheard patient needs lead her to follow the paths of chronic pain and mental health in medicine. Stories both personal and openly shared by patients celebrate the strength, struggles, and humanity within us all.

With her involvement at UBC and U of A she seeks to help the next generation of doctors improve their skills both professionally and personally. Her focus is patient centred care and care giver wellness.

As the Canadian Emerging Storyteller for 2017 Yeng tells tall tales and mostly true stories with a focus on Chinese folktales and medical circumstances.

She believes passionately in the power of artistic reflection to improve problem solving and communication skills. Most importantly it can provide balance and feedback in a fluctuating world.
