My current book, "Navigate the Medical Maze", reveals the importance of 2nd and 3rd opinions on surgeons, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and nursing homes for choices of healing and taking control of medical decisions. I was motivated to write this book after multiple operations, caused by infections in the spine, hips, and legs from medical procedures gone wrong, resulting in consistent chronic pain and being permanently physically disabled. Yet, I fought my way back to walk and function normally.

1st book, "Road to Addiction – Highways to Recovery" has eleven action plans and measuring systems to come up and rise from homelessness and substance abuse. The book has been endorsed by top experts in the field. William White “I will make sure it eventually ends up in the Addiction Studies Archives housed at Chestnut Health Systems in Illinois. That will make sure the book is available to future scholars and recovery historians.

As well as Dr. David Best in London England:

"I have now nearly finished the book. It is an important, intense, and passionate story; it deserves a large audience". David Best has a master’s degree in criminology and a Ph.D. in the psychology of addictions and has written 170 peer-reviewed publications.

Selection of Surgeons, Rehab Facilities and Nursing Home and the need for investigation links

I was inspired to write Navigate the Medical Maze after recovering from two near-death experiences caused by three separate operations. I intend to help others in their decision-making processes.
Except for the knee replacement, each surgery resulted in a different infection strain due to the operations, processes, and procedures. The infections led to seven additional operations, twelve rehabilitation facilities, and three home care organizations. The number of days (2011 and 2015 through 2020) I spent in hospitals and rehabilitation facilities was three hundred and eighty-three.
I worked with three different east coast hospitals, spinal and orthopedic surgeons, nurse practitioners, rehabilitation facilities, rehabilitation directors, infectious disease doctors, directors of nursing, registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, physical and occupation

2nd Medical Opinions Lead to a Secure Patient Attitude

Surrounded by medical instruments, ambulatory assist devices, and a screen showing hospital food, rehab facility beds, a surgical operation, I asked questions to the audience on their experiences, what they thought about what they were seeing, and if they would like to avoid all of that for themselves, friends, and family.
Then the contents of the book was presented and the audience was asked to pick a topic I wrote about. It could be just one line item. The audience was now involved, speaking of experiences they had or relatives. I encouraged cross talk for knowledge transfer. Each line item had and answer their thoughts and history. They thanked me for the information and realization. Plus, the books were in the back of the event room.
