Bio

I am a suspected high functioning autistic who works with special needs daily. My goal in life is to show the world that special needs people are not children in adult bodies but adults with a cognitive disabilities and they have there abilities they have there place. And it's up to us as a society to help them find there place.

Different ability not disabilities

People with disabilities are not disabled in the way we all think many times they're differently abled and have abilities we cannot see until we get to know them even people who need daily help to get the simplest tasks done have amazing abilities to do things we don't even think about. We are in a society that judges everybody by the same standards and yet we would never judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree we would never race a dog and a cheetah and somehow we still feel it fine to compare people with completely different cognitive abilities on the same standardized tests we give to everyone else take a minute learn a lesson from people you never thought capable of teaching. We all have a part to play and making this world the best it can be society is judged by how they treat their weakest links and sometimes once we consider the weakest end up the strongest. We all have a right to a safe happy life and just because some brains are wired differently doesn't change that right.

Safety for differently abled people in school and work.

Just because someone's mind works a little differently doesn't mean that they should be subject to bowling to unsafe working conditions or to unbalanced lives differently abled people may see the world differently may come up problems from a different angle and as teachers as bosses as other employees and as people in the general world it is our responsibility to help them see the dangers of an unbalanced life people with special needs are more likely to burn themselves out they're more likely to overwork themselves and they're more likely to not be able to be seen for doing these things as for some a 4-day work week for them is like a 6-day work week for the rest of us and then again for some work is only place they truly have autonomy simple conversations can lead to saving employees from burnout can lead to them wishing to work harder for you and can make a better work environment not only for your special needs employees but for everybody working under you.

The diagnosis Gap the unseen special needs community

Special needs aren't always as a missing leg or arm special needs aren't as obvious as someone with a severe stutter or someone who speaks in a way that lets you know they have a disability some people don't even know themselves that they are disabled why because they slept through the cracks leave it or not there is a cap on the age you can get diagnosed in Nova Scotia there is a limit to how old you can be when you decide to attempt to try it's not just Nova Scotia all through Canada people have this issue because sometimes special needs are high functioning enough that you can not have screaming red flags but sometimes they're all so low functioning enough that they interfere with your daily life just because there is no diagnosis doesn't mean that there's no disability if you find yourself in the position of being undiagnosed that doesn't mean you can't benefit from following the tips for whatever you think you might have a piece of paper does not define a disability. In any case.
