Bio

Retired US Army Soldier Patricia King is an LGBTQ advocate and a project management specialist with over 20 years of military service. Patricia was America's first openly transgender infantry solider and a pioneer of gender equality within the US Military. She has over 17 years of leadership experience with multiple positions and has lead teams internationally. From this experience Patricia has learned that teams are at their best when everyone can bring their whole self to the table.

More than ever, businesses and organizations are embracing the idea that diverse groups bring more perspectives and problem solve more effectively. Most importantly, they're starting to realize the value of being authentic in the workplace. Diversity and inclusion are directly benefiting the bottom line. Patricia's impactful story will motivate and entice audiences while breaking down the barriers that often keep us from reaching our inclusion goals. Trish will show that there is a strength in vulnerability and that when you are willing to lead from the front, people will follow.

The power of authenticity

Patricia uses her story to demonstrate the value of bringing your whole self to the table. She uses anecdotes mixed with experience to show how much more effective we can be when we don't hold anything back.

The benefits of an inclusive workplace

Patricia discusses the labels or "patches" that we wear and those that we assign to others as well as the things that we aren't as willing to display, the t shirt information. Diverse groups can only be effective in an environment that looks beyond our patches to see the value of the person underneath.
