I use my back­ground in busi­ness and design com­bined with my inter­est in pol­i­tics and work­place democ­ra­cy to inform the oper­a­tions and posi­tion­ing of Loud­er Than Ten.

We fight like hell for elec­toral democ­ra­cy, but when it comes to the insti­tu­tions that affect us most direct­ly (and where we spend the major­i­ty of our wak­ing life), our work­places, the default mode is dictatorship.

The truth is, vot­ing for a politi­cian will nev­er have as much impact as hav­ing a direct say in how many hours you work, how you and your peers get paid, your job secu­ri­ty, your ben­e­fits, or how you’re treat­ed at work.

Bring­ing democ­ra­cy to work begins in the oper­at­ing pro­ce­dures and deci­sion-mak­ing pow­er afford­ed to employ­ees. Project man­age­ment is one of the most pow­er­ful tools we have to design process­es and dis­trib­ute pow­er in more equi­table ways.

I want dig­i­tal work­ers to be as pas­sion­ate about work­place democ­ra­cy as they are about design sys­tems and devel­op­ment frameworks.
