From Python Plights with actual Pirates to Catching Corrupt Cops with C#

A 50/50 mix of stories from working with secret government agencies and practical coding skills including an approach to naming classes and interfaces, the Liskov Principle in C# and a Cache Invalidation solution.

Practical SOLID Principles in C# .NET

SOLID has been around for a long time. Most developers can recite the meaning of each letter, but very few apply this to their daily coding. This is a practical guide, showing how each letter applies to C# and .NET specifically. (NOTE: Always get great feedback from the audience from this one!!)

Taking business logic out of the code

Working in lots of start-up businesses has exposed me to the need to build incredibly flexible software. The kind that doesn't require a re-write each time the business has to piviot. One architecture and approach which has worked incredibly well for several businesses is to build a pipeline that contains no business logic code and combine IoC, Configuration and Business Logic at the project level. This talk discusses the advantages and disadvantages of an extremely unique method for software startups to move quickly with high agility.
