Building Responsibly in an AI Driven World

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has led to many state-of-the-art, groundbreaking discoveries across the world and has contributed greatly towards the good of society. For example, we’ve seen breakthroughs in Medicine, that has led to drug development, drug discovery and more accurate medical diagnosis. There’s also been an increase in AI adoption across businesses and users in the past few years, with the likes of ChatGPT now having a user base of 100+ million users within two months. ChatGPT is now considered the fastest growing app of all time. We live in a world with AI at our fingertips, and along it’s fascinating uses and outcomes comes challenges that are threatening to the safety, privacy, security and equal treatment of people in society. In this session, we’ll look at some of challenges facing AI today, and potential solutions to tackle these problems.

In today's world where Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a predominant technology in almost every device, software and platform, it's important we understand the benefits of AI, its latest breakthroughs and potential problem solving techniques as well as the prevalent dangers and harms it poses to society. While its the world's leading technology with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 38.1% for the next 8 years, it's notoriously known for bias, harms, discrimination, privacy and human rights violations amongst others. In this session, we'd look at the amazing potential AI brings to society as well as its harms, and how to carry out Responsible AI practices on ML models.

Mitigating AI’s Hype, Risks and Limitations with Responsible AI

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become one of the most rapidly rising technologies of all time, with users ranging from businesses, consumers, governments and the general public. AI’s ability to solve global problems including longstanding healthcare issues is outstanding. Nonetheless it’s also experiencing a gold rush with increasing hype on a daily basis. While year over year AI adoption has seen a massive growth - as with any new and nascent technology, it has limitations and risks that all AI adopters need to be aware of. Implementing a Responsible AI framework helps to mitigate and address these risks.
