Terri L. White, MA, LPC, is the business owner and licensed professional counselor with White Diamond Counseling Consulting Coaching, LLC where she provides counseling services, public speaking, and training. Terri is a Certified Trainer and Couple’s Facilitator for Prepare-Enrich. Over the past three decades she has worked in a variety of settings in the field of Head Start, public schools, and other non-profits. Terri’s focus in her current clinical work is with relationships and couples and bringing awareness about mental issues within the church setting.

Terri is the author of 2 books Breaking the silence and From a Mother to a Warrior.

There are 3 elements that keep a natural fire going and a relationship contains the same 3 elements: Heat that gets transferred, Fuel which is everyday issues that seem to never get resolved and Toxic Oxygen that comes straight from spiritual warfare. There is a lot of shame and embarrassment around relationship problems, marriage, and family crisis. Couples will typically seek counseling when divorce is being considered. Deployment, Prison, Unhealthy Family Systems all require intensive and comprehensive work that couples are not prepared for. Couples do not know how to invest in their relationship and their commitment do not go beyond the first 2 sessions.

5 Steps to Accessing the Healing Power Within

Being a Transparent person is not as easy as it may sound. For some, it may have been their culture and religion while others may have lived a life of covering or wearing a mask due to the shame, embarrassment and hurt from others knowing their deep dark secret. There is a difference in being a transparent person versus the person who criticize themselves to take the pressure off from others doing it.
When you are hard on yourself or become your own worst critic, you really may have self-esteem issues and feel inadequate in your lifestyle or professional performance. When you become transparent you are real with the fact that you have flaws and will make mistakes and that you are okay with it.
