Steven’s significant professional chapter began in 2000 when he became a Panera Bread franchisee. He managed six locations across southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin, cultivating a robust operation that employed over 350 individuals. His franchise, which he sold in 2019, consistently ranked among the top in national customer satisfaction surveys among all Panera franchisees.
In his management role, he oversaw a comprehensive team that included general managers for each location and a district manager who assisted in regional strategic planning. His hands-on leadership style was pivotal in maintaining high operational standards and fostering an environment of excellence and growth.
Steve Wolfe skillfully managed his marketing efforts to align with Panera Bread’s national brand while also localizing strategies to meet the demands of the local market. This dual approach significantly contributed to sustained sales growth and the strategic expansion of his business.
Prior to his time as a franchisee, Steven was an independent insurance broker specializing in supplemental insurance sales in the Chicago suburbs. His initial sales experience was sharpened by selling educational and Christian books during his college summers, an endeavor that built his resilience and deepened his sales acumen.
Steven Wolfe grew up as the sixth of ten children in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from Assumption High School in 1988 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a minor in History from St. John’s University in 1992.
A dedicated community volunteer, Steven has significantly contributed to local nonprofits and food banks. His franchises alone donated over $300,000 annually in bakery products to community organizations.
