Stephen Straz grew up believing that authentic craftsmanship comes from patience and doing each task properly. As a kid, he was often the one who stayed behind to finish what he started, and that steady commitment became the foundation of his work. Those early habits still guide how Stephen Straz approaches every project today.
He leads Straz Builders LLC on the South Shore of Massachusetts, operating from offices in Marshfield and Pembroke. His company focuses on custom luxury homes, renovations, sustainable and energy-efficient communities, and real estate investments across the South Shore, Greater Boston, Cape Cod, and other parts of New England.
Stephen holds a Massachusetts Unrestricted Construction Supervisor’s License, a Class A CDL with hazmat and passenger endorsements, and licenses in hoisting and hydraulics. From 2018 to 2020, he managed about $12 million in real estate holdings, including roughly $4 million in active construction and around $2 million raised from outside investors. One notable accomplishment during that time was the complete renovation and sale of 130 Gray Street in Arlington, which sold for $1.3 million, landing $130,000 above the asking price.
His design approach begins with understanding how people live in their homes. He considers natural light, storage, and movement through each space to create layouts that balance practicality and comfort. A detail he often incorporates is a long horizontal window placed in the kitchen backsplash, a simple feature that adds depth and light without relying on trends.
Stephen stays closely involved from initial zoning meetings to the final walk-through, keeping communication clear and preventing avoidable delays. His work spans new construction, high-end renovations, and investment properties throughout Plymouth County, Norfolk County, Cape Cod, and the Lake Winnipesaukee region. His familiarity with coastal zoning, local codes, and energy standards helps him anticipate challenges across different markets.
He builds trust with homeowners by clearly outlining costs, timelines, and milestones. Investors receive organized proposals that outline budgets, schedules, contingencies, and market-driven reasoning. On-site, he leads with consistency, respect, and a strong focus on safety and accountability.
Outside of work, he enjoys time outdoors with his family and stays active through a variety of recreational and competitive activities.
For Stephen Straz, each project reflects a long-term commitment to honest communication, practical design, and dependable results.
