I grew up on a dairy farm South of Kansas City Missouri in a town called Harrisonville. After attending University of Missouri in Columbia I moved to Elk City, Oklahoma
My 1st oilfield job was in March 1981 for NL McCullough working as a wire-line hand.
From there I became a Roustabout Foreman/Equipment Operator for C&C Roustabout and Dozer also in Elk City.
As a Roustabout, I noticed the supply hands that would bring materials and fittings to location get a ticket signed then hop in their Climate Controlled vehicle and go on their way!
It was just a short time later that I began my career in the Pipe, Valves and Fittings Supply Business. I broke out with Amfac Pipe and Supply then worked for Republic, Bovaird and LTV Energy Products.. and worked for Public Service Company as a Warehouse/Inventory Controller and Finally Four-Four Pipeline Contractors where I was Material Coordinator/Safety Superintendent.
In 1988 I was hired as a Contract Radio Sports Announcer, for KADS where I continued working in the Oilfield during the day and did the games at night.. (I was the “Voice of Elk City Sports” for 28 Years)
And in March of 2020, I was Awarded The Media Excellence Award for Many Years of Outstanding Media Coverage from the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA)
Finally in 1998 I was hired as a Full Time Sports Director and Sales Representative for Paragon Communications.
In January 2012, I Began Co-Hosting "Exploring Energy" that airs locally 5 days a week and is heard world wide and I continue that today!

I ran a successful campaign in 2003 for Elk City School Board of Education and Proudly Served until 2012 and 8 of those years as it's President. I respectively resigned My position so My Daughters could be employed as teachers in the Elk City School system.
I have been a member of the 1st Christian Church of Elk City since 1988 and have been the Song Leader of the Traditional service since 1990 I have also served as a Deacon, Elder and as Chairman of the Church board of Directors
I, along with my Wife Gina, volunteered at the Elk City Adult Softball Association for over 20 years. Doing scheduling, field maintenance, umpiring and whatever else needed to be done.
I have been married to my wife, Gina since 1984, and have three Children; Elizabeth, McKenna and Levi, all born in Elk City, And I have three Granddaughters and one Grandson.
Finally, I was inducted into the Western Oklahoma Hall of Fame in Dec of 2022.
