A Cleveland, Ohio native, Iz joined the Navy in 1993. He retired from the US Navy in 2022 after 29 years of service. During his military career, he achieved the top enlisted rank of Command Master Chief and served in that capacity for seven commands. Iz deployed ten times to support Operation Deliberate Force (Bosnia), Counter Drug Operations in South America, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He was also the Senior Drill Instructor for the Navy’s only bootcamp and was responsible for training over 120,000 new Sailors. As a leader, he found that his greatest joy comes from helping people reach their goals, and having a front row seat to their success.
Iz decided he wanted to combine his leadership abilities with his love of people and fitness by becoming a certified personal trainer, leadership coach and motivational speaker. Through Motivate w/ Iz! his new mission is training, guiding and mentoring people looking to remove the stress of changing their lives through a positive mindset and helping those aspiring to meet goals.
