Mrs. Sharon J. Lawrence is a highly regarded speaker and coach working extensively in the areas of wellness, life improvement, career planning, and professional development. She is on a mission to help professionals, entrepreneurs and corporations establish focus, productivity and greater success. She is a licensed therapist, certified life coach, certified anger management specialist, certified prepare/enrich facilitator and certified financial social worker who is also trained in diversity, equity and inclusion. With 20 years of experience working with community agencies/community service boards, the State Department of Human Services, medical systems, higher education, and mental health, she has helped with staff retention, work/life balance, time management, conflict resolution, team building and healthy relationships.

Mrs. Lawrence is the CEO of SJL Professional Services, Inc. a coaching and consulting service based out of Tampa, Florida. She is also the Founder and Owner of Selah Wellness & Therapeutic Services, LLC, a virtual mental health practice in the states of Maryland and Florida. She is a co-host of It’s All Business Entrepreneurship Show where she is affectionately known as the SelfCarePreneur providing information on mental health, self-care, and trends related to the emotional well-being aspect for business owners.

She has been a subject matter expert on Good Morning Washington, Let’s Talk Live, BMore Lifestyle, a number of conferences to include Boris L. Henson Foundation Can We Talk? Mental Health Conference. Mrs. Lawrence has also been featured in media publications and podcasts such as but not limited to Yahoo! Lifestyle, Bustle, The Root, Madamnoire, GoodTherapy, ArlNow, OldPodcast, and I Am CEO Podcast. In addition, Mrs. Lawrence is an Adjunct Professor for Bowie State University (Department of Behavioral Sciences and Human Services) and Prince George’s Community College (Department of Human Services) where she is helping to prepare the next generation of helping professionals. In addition, Mrs. Lawrence is a national speaker, trainer, adjunct profession and author. In her spare time, she is a volunteer mentor for Envision Lead Grow mentor program for girl entrepreneurs. She resides in Tampa, Florida with her family.

Mental Health and Trauma In the Workplace

Although mental health benefits are typically covered by
insurance plans in which organizations pay into and
provide as a support for their staff, it is not necessarily
recognized and highlighted in the workplace as a benefit
or a necessity.

This workshop highlights the importance of understanding
that mental health challenges, the culture of mental
health, workplace trauma, types of trauma and the
approach of trauma informed care. It will focus on how
unresolved areas related to mental health and trauma in
the workplace compromises the fidelity of personal lives
and the professional environment.

BALANCE: Employee Wellness & Stress Management

The BALANCE: Employee Wellness & Stress Management
workshop assists companies enhance productivity, job
satisfaction, and workplace wellness.

BALANCE focuses on team building, mental health,
solution focused strategies, crisis management, conflict
resolution, and boosting staff morale.

This interactive workshop is filled with tools and
techniques that promote wellness and a commitment to
the organization and self. Leadership and team members
will understand the meaning of stress and wellness in the
workplace and how to deal with it effectively.

POP Culture: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Acceptance

This interactive workshop focuses helping organizations
commit to change related to diversity, equity, inclusion
and acceptance. Strategies will provide guidance to
help leaders and diversity teams identify goals with the
end in mind.

Areas of focus includes but are not limited to reviewing
perspectives, opinions, and positions in regards to
diversity and change from a Strengths-Based Approach.
Organizations will also learn ways to assess current
structures and create plans for intentional change that
propels the mission and values of the organization
forward with true impact.

Positive Team Building and Conflict Resolution

This interactive workshop assists team with identifying
ways that support teams in achieving goals and
establishing strengths and conflict resolution skills.

Teams will learn skills and strategies that create safety,
the ability to embrace conflict, and ways to manage
defeat, compromise, accommodating and collaborating.
Leaders will also learn to develop a more inclusive and
strategic environment that welcomes change and growth
for teams.

The overall workshop will improve productivity, staff
cohesiveness, confidence, and team work.

I MATTER Workshop Series for Staff

The I Matter Workshop is a 6- week program for staff and contractors that focuses on building a solid mindset around self-care, competency, trust, and professionalism. During this workshop, participants are able to work through organizational concerns while learning conflict resolution skills, time management skills, professional development/ growth, and understanding personality styles. Each participant will develop a greater sense of self while learning to effectively communicate within systems. Each interactive workshop is 2 hours.

LEAD WELL Workshop Series for Leaders

The Lead Well Workshop is a 6-week workshop for executive leaders that focuses on assisting leadership with ways to improve over staff compliance, retention, clinical and conflict resolution skills, and selfcare. During the course of the workshop the following areas are addressed: review of current structure, programmatic goals, leadership styles, and staff perception. Each workshop is 2 hours.
