Sharen Wendy Robertson

One of the most heartbreaking challenges in my life has been rebuilding my life since losing my 20 year old son in a car accident in 2008. The pain and grief was utterly overwhelming. Without prior knowledge of songwriting or the music industry, I felt compelled to begin writing and singing songs to and for my son. This humble beginning turned into a career. I have written and produced three CDs since he passed. My music videos are on YouTube (with 300,000 views), and my songs are available online in music outlets such as iTunes and Amazon. This is my story of how I used music to lift me out of the the depths of despair.

In 1994 I founded a literacy company called, The Story Train. This program, which included showcasing elementary students and their creative writing on cable television, was awarded the best program for children on local access television in Massachusetts. I traveled throughout Massachusetts and brought my program to countless public and private schools, motivating and inspiring children to WANT to write.

In 2000, I received my Masters in Education from Harvard University and opened the doors of The Story Train Literacy Center, a private tutoring, testing and evaluation center for struggling students.
