Hello, I'm Sandy Gennaro. I'm a professional drummer/percussionist as well as speaker-educator-motivator living in Nashville.
During my half-century as a musician I've performed for over a billion people in over 30 countries on 4 continents with artists such as Cyndi Lauper, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, The Monkees, Bo Diddley, Johnny Winter, Whitford-St Holmes Band, Michael Bolton, Robin Gibb and The Pat Travers Band. Rock, Blues, Country and Pop are my specialties.
My TV appearances include The Tonight Show (4x), Late night with David Letterman, The Grammy Awards, The American Music Awards, The MTV Video Music Awards, The Today Show, CBS This Morning, American Bandstand, Access Hollywood and Entertainment Tonight as well as National TV in Canada, Europe, The Far East and South America.
As an educator, I've taught private lessons, master classes and seminars for 27 years at the Drummers Collective (NYC) and maintain my private practice here in Nashville TN. I've inaugurated the Music Business Program at The Collective which is still in use today. In addition to drum instruction, I address career guidance, audition/recording/touring preparation and the business of music.
I've been a counselor at over 15 of David Fishof's Rock and Roll Fantasy Camps including the team building corporate Camps held nationwide.
My interactive, multimedia, corporate/academic speaking presentation "Beating the Drums and Beating the Odds" will excite and engage the audience with "live drumming to the hits" and personal behind the scenes stories to illustrate my B.E.A.T.S concept. B.E.A.T.S. is an acronym standing for: Belief, Enthusiasm, Attitude, Tenacity and Service. These concepts are used to illustrate my core principals.
The take-aways are applicable to all careers on any level.
I have spoken for FedEX, Belmont University, Pacific Hotel Management, The US Space and Rocket Center, School of Rock and the Sam Ash Corp.
