Bio

At the age of 4, Robin suffered a traumatic brain injury that led to a nine-year battle with epilepsy.

While intellectually curious and creative from a young age, Robin had to overcome her seizure disorder and childhood reading challenges to start on a path of success.

Today, she has overcome those challenges to serve as a literacy nonprofit founder, published children's author, poet, certified elementary school teacher, nonprofit, consultant and motivational speaker. She has taken lessons from her past and transformed it into a message of hope for the youth and women that she speaks to and serves.

The founder and CEO of Robin Wilson Educational Consulting LLC, a nonprofit consulting business, she combines her lived experiences, research knowledge, and professional experience to guide nonprofit organizations in developing effective strategies for serving youth, especially young girls and women.

With more than 10 years of experience working on literacy initiatives and in the nonprofit sector, Robin has worked directly with people from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Specifically, she has taught English as a second language locally and abroad, as well as trained adults of various cultures to become community leaders, literacy tutors, and responsible citizens.

A graduate of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Robin earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading and Minor in English language arts. Currently, Robin teaches first grade at a foreign language immersion school in Detroit, Michigan.

She also serves as a citizen diplomat for Global Ties Detroit. She is a compassionate leader with a passion for uplifting and inspiring young people to lead and thrive.
