Bio

Richard has held senior political and communications roles. He worked on his first US Presidential election campaign aged 16 and went on to become the youngest ever Board Member of the UK Conservative Party and chaired the Party Conference in 2004 as the President of the National Convention, aged 28. He has carried out missions in various places around the world, including Uganda where he has trained the opposition party and Pakistan where he took part in a tour of the five regional capitals debating the future of east/west relations. In the communications field, Richard has held senior roles at Royal Mail, Centrica, Smithfield, Citigate and is now the Communications Director at the Civil Aviation Authority. An experienced conference speaker, after dinner speaker, trainer and facilitator in a range of topics, Richard has spoken at events around the world in America, Europe, Africa and Asia. He has also climbed Kilimanjaro, crossed the Arctic Circle by Husky dog sled, walked along the Great Wall of China and walked across the south island of New Zealand all in aid of charity. Richard brings the unique combination of his various professional, political and personal experiences together in an engaging and entertaining presentation.

Richard is passionate about the communications industry. In this address, he talks about the significant changes he has observed during twenty years as a communications professional and looks to the challenges of the next twenty. In this motivational talk, Richard highlights the need for the industry to be prepared and ready to change and adapt constantly - a task in which all members of the industry have a role to play.
