Dr. Kilgore was born in Detroit, Michigan and earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in 1991 from Wayne State University and completed a 3-year Internal Medicine hospital residency at University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Prior to his medical training, Dr. Kilgore completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Following his Internal Medicine hospital residency training in Ann Arbor, Dr. Kilgore moved to Atlanta where he worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC) as well as the Atlanta Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. Kilgore then undertook clinical and field research on pressing public health and infectious disease challenges that took him to over 30 countries in Asia, Africa and South America. In 2017, Dr. Kilgore was elected as a Fellow to the American College of Physicians in recognition for his expertise and contributions to medicine. Dr. Kilgore is committed to disease prevention and helping individuals and groups understand strategies and pathways to reach their very best health. In his spare time, Dr. Kilgore actively trains for Sprint, Olympic and Half-Ironman triathlons (Swimming/Biking/Running).
