Patricia Bonilla is a successful Latina woman in a men dominated industry. She is the CEO of Lunacon Construction Group, a Florida Hispanic-Women Owned Organization, a company that provides design-build, construction management, and general contracting services to the public and private levels.
Patricia is a civil engineer with a master's degree in construction management from Florida International University. She began her career in the construction industry as a project engineer for a large construction company, and quickly rose through the hierarchy to become a construction manager for the City of Fort Lauderdale. In 2007, Patricia founded Lunacon Construction Group in her garage, in the midst of the national financial crisis. Since then, she has completed more than 250 projects for federal, municipal, and private clients, offering design-build, construction management, and general contracting services using a hands-on approach.
Patricia's mission is to make a difference in the world through hard work and an unwavering commitment to her clients and employees. Her spiritual growth and her relationship with God are a fundamental part of her life and she feels that she is guided by God on her path to success. Their achievements have been recognized with multiple awards, including the 2014 Florida State Minority Business Person Award and the Entrepreneur of the Year Award Finalist in 2016. Lunacon has also been honored with awards such as Government Contractor of the Year. from American Express in 2015, the South Florida Good to Great Award in 2016, the Excellence in Construction Award in 2017, and the ABC Award for Excellence in Diversity in 2018, among others.
Patricia is happily married and the mother of five wonderful children. Despite the demands of her career, she has managed to maintain a balance between her personal and professional life. Her experience in building strong and lasting relationships with her clients and employees also extends to her family, in which she has managed to build a happy and loving home with her soul mate.
In addition to her role at Lunacon, Patricia has emerged as a leader in the construction industry and business community. She has served as chair of the Miami Dade Council for Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), chair of the SAME small business council and the Industry Advisory Council Board at Florida International University, and also chairs the Diversity Council and Inclusion of US Law. With her knowledge, experience and her commitment to excellence, Patricia serves as a role model and inspiration to many, breaking down barriers and paving the way for greater diversity and inclusion in the construction industry.
