Bio

Natalie’s career has taken her from Silicon Valley to the Fortune 100 and into entrepreneurship, but being raised in Republic, OH (population 600) is where she learned her greatest leadership lessons. Natalie founded Small Town Leadership in 2016 in order to share these lessons learned from small town living to help leaders and organizations create big success in the world.

In a small town, each person’s work matters, everyone feels cared for, and collaboration is necessary to survive and thrive. If you are seeking a fresh way to look at your company and leadership style, think of it small town style. It’s where everyone plays an important role, working with what you have is the norm, and a culture of caring is expected.

In addition to being a 10-year 4-H member and repeat State Fair champion in public speaking, Natalie is a two-time graduate of The Ohio State University and Professional Coach accredited through the International Coach Federation. She has 20+ years of experience coaching, developing leaders, and strengthening teams in the non-profit, higher education, and corporate sectors. She works with both 1:1 and small group coaching clients to help them be more connected – to themselves, their work, families and communities. She is a frequent speaker at leadership, university and corporate events.

Small Town Leadership: Big Stories from a Small Town

Imagine your organization this way:
-Everyone has an important role to play.
-Team members aren’t afraid to wear many hats.
-When crisis strikes, everyone rallies.
-When success happens, everyone celebrates.

This is your company - small town style. It’s a place where work ethic, camaraderie, and compassion matter.

Drawing on her upbringing in Republic, Ohio (population 600) to her success from Silicon Valley to the Fortune 100, Natalie will motivate you to work, act and think small town. When you think of your organization as a small town, you will find ways for your employees to connect, contribute and engage in new and meaningful ways.

In this presentation, we will discuss the power of small town style to:
-Connect: Build networks that create results
-Contribute: Willingness to say “yes” to projects no matter rank or title
-Engage: Encourage everyone to bring their full self to work

Energy, Attitude & Leadership: How are YOU showing up?

How well do you handle what is thrown at you on a daily basis? How would you like to react with less stress, greater resilience and deeper connection? This session will help you with each of these things by learning about Energy Leadership™.

Depending on what’s going on in a given day—whether really fun or really stressful - you are likely showing up and displaying a different attitude to your colleagues, friends and family. Learn about the different types of energy we experience and how you can take positive, productive & sustainable action to show up in the best way possible.

During this 90-120 minute interactive workshop, we dive into the concept of Energy Leadership™, which is the process that helps you evaluate your personal leadership and introduces shifts to make in order to positively influence not only yourself, but also those you work and interact with, as well as your organization as a whole.

Lead with your Head AND Your Heart

During this session, we will answer the question team members and company leaders are asking:

How can I be less stressed, more productive and have a greater sense of wellbeing?

Team members will unpack this question and gain significant personal insight during this interactive 2-hour workshop based on the research of Shirzad Chamine, founder of Positive Intelligence. Participants will leave the session with a greater understanding of the core elements of mental fitness, which will enable greater performance AND wellbeing.

This requires a new understanding and approach to leading with your head AND your heart.

Let Her Out: Reclaim Who You Have Always Been

Once we get to a certain level of success, we forget about the girl inside of us. She is the one who was the first to hop into a game of pickup basketball, but now all she does is pick up after others. She was the one who played the lead in the school musical, but now only sings in the shower. She wrote her deepest thoughts in a journal, but is stuck writing one business report after the other.

If you feel like your inner girl gets sent to the back of the line when the next deadline, meeting, or family obligation pops up, don’t miss this session.

This interactive and inspirational session was created when Natalie found all of the diaries she has written since she was 8. She was reminded that she has always been who she was meant to be. Natalie’s bestselling book with the same title launched in November 2020. In this session, she’ll walk through her journey of reclaiming her inner girl and help you do the same.

Embedding leadership in everything you do

This presentation brings organizational behavior concepts to life. Leaders will tell you that they can teach skill, but they can't teach will. They will also say that doing the work and building a case are never challenging, it's the politics and personalities that get in the way. I will cover concepts including:
" Crucial Conversations
" Why "why" is the question to answer first
" Empathy and Emotional Intelligence in action
" E + R = O (Event + Response = Outcome)
