Bio

Michelle Mellon is the founder/CEO/Chief Storyteller of WordBird, a storytelling consultancy supporting social impact organizations and businesses that are led by women and people of color. She has over 25 years of experience applying storytelling to marketing and messaging initiatives in agency, in-house, and freelance roles as a content, copy- and ghostwriter and editor. Michelle is also a published author, with two short fiction collections and dozens of stories in anthologies and magazines.

In this session we'll explore how storytelling causes physical and chemical changes in your brain to contribute to memory formation and retrieval, explore the basic tenets of storytelling and how to make them work for you, and review some storytelling myths that may be holding you back from maximum engagement and impact.
