Bio

A very important element that is missing in our organizational culture, is a created space for empathy. Empathy is our access to experiencing community and partnership. Traditional trainings, whether they be for metoo awareness, team-building, diversity and inclusion sensitivity, etc., may be good at teaching "what not to do," yet are ultimately ineffective because they fall short in developing the awareness and listening that is necessary to cause a cultural shift. Matthew Solomon's programs solve this problem by teaching participants how to naturally listen for what would make a difference, be appropriate or inappropriate, and how to best support each other and work together.

Matthew regularly leads immersion programs and discussions on the topics of creating partnership, consent, gender sensitivity and diversity & inclusion. The success of his book, "Man School: Relating with Women in the #MeToo Era," and his weekly column for The Good Men Project, has resulted in Matthew having been interviewed on over 30 programs, participating on countless panel discussions on the topics of diversity & inclusion, facilitating forums and leading workshops for universities and corporations. His unique approach to communication, inspires a safe space for these discussions to be had. What he does, is different. Rather than just rattle off a bunch of statistics and talking points, Matthew's chief aim is to create a culture of open and inclusive communication. Participants in his engagements consistently say that they feel transformed in some way from the space that was created. Matthew is currently leading a year-long restorative program for a college in New York state.

Instantly Create Partnership Through Generous Listening

We are not taught how to have successful relationships in any area of our lives. Whether it be romantic, corporate, familial, etc., we fall short because we do not know how to really connect with each other. We do this through listening. My "Generous Listening" approach is easy and fun to learn. This type of listening has transformed marriages, college campuses and corporate environments. The results are deeper connection, a natural awareness of inclusion and experiencing feeling heard, understood and valued.

Men Navigating MeToo

The biggest concerns men have expressed since the online #metoo movement erupted is that they don't know what to do, what to say or how to act. There is a fear of doing the wrong thing and having to suffer consequences because of it. This presentation promotes an awareness of what women deal with, teaches men how to powerfully stand in integrity and honor and provides techniques for having empowered conversations regarding consent.
