I recently joined Alphabet to lead the privacy engineering program at Google Payments. My team of privacy engineers and program managers delivers effective and scalable user-centric privacy-preserving solutions that allow GPay customers to maintain control and ownership over their personal information and financial data. Prior to joining Google, I served as Acting Branch Chief for Privacy Compliance at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) within the Department of Homeland Security. In that role, I ensured that privacy protections were embedded throughout the development of tools and processes for compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. I also previously served in various IT security and privacy roles at the Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. I am a U.S. Army combat veteran with a passion for cyber warfare. I have a Doctor of Science in Cybersecurity, two Master of Science in IT Management and Cybersecurity, and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. In addition to my military combat awards and decorations, I received several leadership awards and most recently the USCIS Director’s Award for Effective Interagency Cooperation.
