Bio

A native of Oklahoma, Maggie Larkin moved to New York with a nanny job from craigslist, $200, and no clue.

Since 2012, she has developed a reputation as a Jill-of-all-trades; doing everything from assisting broadway producers to operating the spotlight. Now focusing on directing and writing, Maggie looks forward to the next step in her career.

Aside from theater, Maggie enjoys designing her own embroidery patterns and snuggling with the love of her life, a 14-year-old Schnauzer named Bella.

Are You Sure? How My Trip to the Psych Ward Taught Me to Listen to Myself

"The thoughts circled and swam until it was all I could think about: I wished I was dead.
These thoughts existed in the background of my mind for years, but for the first time in a while, they were foreground. They were active. And I was afraid that I would listen to them."

This talk describes the worst days of my life, when I checked myself in to a mental hospital, and how they turned in to the best days of my life, when I discovered the keys to self-love through self-advocacy.
