Promoting From Within: Mastering Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace

What do you have in common with Michelle Obama, George Clooney, Big Bird, Oprah Winfrey and Warren Buffett? Hopefully, more than you think! Simply put, Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is a person’s ability to recognize his or her emotions, as well as the emotions of others. It affects how we manage behavior, social situations, work relationships and personal decisions. People with a high degree of emotional intelligence tend to make more money, manage relationships better and are overall happier people.
This fun, personal and eye opening discussion will review the five main components of Emotional Intelligence and how it can be beneficial in the workplace. Whether in business, bookkeeping or bartending, participants will leave with practical ideas to boost job performance and develop stronger leadership skills through improved EQ. Regardless of where you are in your career (from intern to EVP), when you have higher emotional intelligence you’re able to react better to situations .
