Bio

I am LaTonya Davis, a Christian, who has served in K-12 nonprofits, public and charter schools where I have built teacher efficacy, increased student motivation and improved school leadership practices and systems. I was always intrigued with how natural it is to motivate youth. Over time I have impacted over 10,000 Latino, African American and Caucasian youth and adults through my work as a highly effective teacher, Assistant Principal, Great American Cities Program Coordinator and School Principals Coach. As a result, I have had consistent student growth and academic achievement with general and special education students.

I earned a Presidential Scholarship to attend Bennett College (Historically Black College) where I graduated with a BA in Political Science and minor in Economics. I served as Senior Class President and joined a sorority. A few years after, I graduated from St. Mary's University School of Law where I served as Associate Editor of The Scholar: St. Mary's Law Review on Minority Issues. Because of my legal and educational background, I have been able to support my child living with Autism and those with Special Education needs in schools. I run DanielsDay.weebly.com to teach during COVID 19 and as a way to offer families strategies along their own journey. Ultimately, I want to see gaps eliminated so that students can go to any school in a joyful learning environment and have the choice of colleges and careers.
