Before every event I do, I spend two to three meetings or phone calls with the client, and I ask lots of questions about their needs. Then I put together a custom program designed for their company and their specific needs. Many times, during these pre-event talks I find that what the customer thinks is their main problem is not really the problem they should be addressing. That is one reason it is always good to get someone from outside you company to put a new set of eyes on the inner workings and determine what they really are in need of. I have a knack of ferreting out problems that many people overlook, I am trained “to look”!
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
The magic is not just communication but good communication. This is the backbone of eliminating problems from a company. The goal for all executives is the bottom line, but sometimes their view of what is actually happening that changes the bottom line is missed. I am there to open their eyes so they are able to see things from another more informed perspective. In business or your personal life, if you can properly manage your communication and not be emotionally tied to only one view, and be open to accept change you can find your bottom line.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Success for me is when I have given a program for a client and after the program is over people begin coming to shake my hand and tell me they appreciate what I taught them. I love it when people tell me that I have changed the way they always looked at certain things because of what I taught them during my program. I am in the process of writing a book and I have only one goal for the book, to inspire people that are living a hard life. I am not even concerned about the money I may make or the notoriety, I want people to know that even if they have been abused or treated unfairly, they can survive it and go on to live a great and peaceful life because they will see I did it and they can too. I got certified to do prison/jail ministry so I could go talk to inmates and give them some hope. I am very frank with them and they appreciate that, I tell them many of them are exactly where they belong. However, many of them have made some bad life choices and everyone deserves a second chance. But, when you get that second chance you can’t blow the opportunity!
What’s next for you?
Next for me is to finish my book and promote it and make sure as many people as possible can have an opportunity to read it and let them know there is hope for them. Between now and when the book is finished, I hope to work with as many clients as possible to help them in any way I can.
