Lara Bloom

Lara Bloom is an inspirational keynote speaker who has spoken at multiple conferences, policy meetings, corporate and fundraising events and academic lectures worldwide, representing the patient voice with clear, concise, emotive and impassioned experience.

As a patient who was born with the genetic connective tissue condition Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), Lara was not diagnosed until the age of 24, after years of symptoms, chronic pain and frustration. Lara has transformed this negative experience into a positive by pursuing a career in patient advocacy and becoming an Executive Director in the non-profit sector.

Lara has a unique way of being able to inspire patients to manage symptoms through her positivity and passion. She demonstrates how to cope with the multi-systemic nature of an invisible rare disease, through her experience with holistic approaches and focusing on the importance of building a bridge between mental and physical health. Lara can share how she has used the power of the mind as a tool to overcome the physical pain, emotional trauma and complications that can be experienced living with a chronic condition.
