LaFonya Jones

Dr. Jones is co-owner of Balance Beacon, where she provides therapy to a broad population of individuals.

Her focus is on helping people attend to complicated situations, by learning solutions that will redirect their life’s journey. She enjoys taking part in the process of people blossoming into healthy individuals, capable of enduring life’s endeavors.

Dr. Jones’s decision to become a therapist started in 2001, after working at a children’s home practicing counseling skills learned while in school. She began her counseling career in 2004, while working toward her Master’s degree in professional counseling. She sought out various facets of the field of psychology, which led her to psychometric work. Her passion for evaluations evolved as she continued her education in clinical psychology. She graduated with her doctorate degree in 2011 with an eclectic work history.

Dr. Jones advanced her experience as a counselor by working in many areas such as: sex offenders, substance abuse, domestic violence, mental health, couples, families, adolescents, individuals suffering from everyday situations and evaluations.
