I’m a mom, an educator, and most recently a quality improvement coordinator with an energetic optimistic attitude. I want to provide resource to parent's staff and teachers of young children, who want to support intentional, whole child development. I want to help passionate early childhood professionals with protecting childhood from the too-much, too-soon culture of today, and recognize that childhood is not just cute but powerful and incredibly important. I work to help educators make intentional choices about assisting and supporting a child’s development.
At the same time, I keep things real here. Children are pint sized humans, not factory-built machines. There is no input = output programming system or a nice clean flowchart or one size fits all. If you do “this” you don’t always get “that” (and that’s okay). There is no such thing as cookie cutter children.
With a bachelor’s and master’s degree in early childhood education, I thought this might give me an unfair advantage when it came time to raise my daughter. Reality check, developing little humans is a challenge no matter how many textbooks you’ve read or how many accolades your professors wrote on your term papers! I share about what I’ve learned and how to expand your mind with a fresh perspective.
