One-time aspiring nun, Marine Corps veteran, humble doctor's receptionist... Kristin McTiernan took the scenic route to her current position as an expert novel editor and professional writer.

After completing her military service and finding out the hard way that English majors are far from in demand, she took a risk and drove across the country for a job as a government editor, making only a little money at work but finding her skills in demand from everyone around her. Air Force pilots, fellow civil servants, coworkers wives' -- they all seemed to need help editing a novel, a memoir, or a doctoral dissertation.

Discovering she had a knack for bringing out the best in other people's work, Kristin started freelancing, mostly to finance her own independently published fantasy and sci-fi books.

Eleven years later and Kristin has an admirable client list, a growing YouTube channel, four novels, and a happy home with her husband and dog in Kansas City, KS.
