Kevin L Wilkinson Jr is a Professor with Houston Christain University and has been tasked with the creation of a new graduate program where students can now gain a master's from the university in ether onsite or online courses.
Kevin L Wilkinson Jr is a Criminal Intelligence Analyst for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Criminal Intelligence Unit Human Trafficking task force and the agency's representative for the Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance. Additionally, he is the agency's lead for human trafficking investigative software such as ARC-GIS and Cellebrite.
He has worked in Texas criminal justice and law enforcement for over 15 years in multiple capacities, such as an investigative Criminal Intelligence Analyst for the Houston Police Department's Real Time Crime Center for over eight years and a Texas Peace Officer for over five years.
He has a Ph.D. from Liberty University in Criminology, to which he wrote his dissertation on the demand aspects of human sex trafficking.
He received his Master of Science from Lamar University, a Bachelor of Science from Sam Houston State University, and an Executive Certificate in Criminal Justice Administration from Liberty University. He is an adjunct instructor at Texas A&M-Commerce for Crime Analysis and Technical Writing. He has been a panel member at a human trafficking summit sponsored by Crime Stoppers Houston and taught courses on human trafficking at Houston Community College's Police Academy.
When he began investigating, researching, and analyzing human sex trafficking, both occupationally and academically, he found that one of the most significant issues was the lack of motivational understanding of both victims and demand buyers and a substantial deficiency of awareness on the crime of human sex-trafficking in the United States.
For over 16 years, Kevin has been an investigator, analyst, and researcher of the crime of human sex trafficking and the offshoots leading to and from this organized criminal enterprise. His combined years of experience and education has made him an expert in this realm of criminal justice, not just in theory but in practice.
Dr. Wilkinson wants to continue to bring awareness to human sex trafficking through empirically researched data and real-world investigative experience by arming communities with the knowledge that can be utilized to effectively combat this organized crime that is gaining traction in both profit and victimization.
