Upon graduating from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, Katie worked for LaForce + Stevens, a prominent PR agency in New York City. Originally a side-business, Katie launched Three Jane, a personalized accessory brand, and the Map Necklace out of her downtown apartment. The Map Necklace was (and still is) a piece of customized jewelry, commemorating life's most important moments and places. After working with Allison Williams, Anna Kendrick, Jennifer Lawrence, Olivia Wilde, amongst others and being featured in the window of Henri Bendel on 5th Avenue, Katie was offered a licensing deal with A.JAFFE, a well-respected bridal brand. Working for her licensee for a year and growing sales by almost 5000%, she began consulting for Brenne Whisky, a French single malt produced and bottled out of Cognac, France, seeing the company through acquisition a little over a year later.
Then, in November 2017, Katie's world was flipped upside down when she was diagnosed with a large, 3" brain tumor. Growing up with and overcompensating for a wide array of learning disabilities, from ADHD to dyslexia, and mental illnesses, from anxiety to depression, Katie came to find that she never had it—any of it. Being accepted to and attending the highly selective Iowa Writers’ Workshop for summer 2018, Katie is in the midst of writing her first book, a memoir titled Brainstorm.
