Karenthia A. Barber has over 20 years of experience in organizational development, education/training, human resources, and government relations. Recognized as an exceptional strategist, world-class speaker, seasoned business consultant, and leadership coach, she currently serves as an adjunct faculty member, board chair and president of Professional Development Associates, LLC. a consulting practice that provides coaching, consulting, organizational and government relations services.
Under her leadership, the firm has provided a wide range of organizational development and training programs for companies of all sizes including federal, state, corporate and non-profit organizations throughout this country and abroad. She has presented workshops and trainings for over two hundred thousand individuals from all levels of an organization, representing a broad range of ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic diversity.
She has taught at both the university and community college level.
Ms. Barber received her undergraduate education at the University of Pittsburgh and completed her graduate studies at Penn State University. She is a graduate of Leadership Maryland and Coach University. Committed to service, she volunteers hundreds of hours annually.
Ms. Barber served as the first woman Chair of the Board of Trustees of Maryland Automobile Insurance, providing governance and leadership for the 100 million dollar carrier. She currently serves on the boards of Baltimore Votes, the Baltimore City Historical Society the Morgan State University President’s Committee for the Morgan State University Choir.
The Daily Record named Ms. Barber one of the 2016and 2022 Maryland Top 100 Women in Maryland for her leadership accomplishments and community service. Leadership Maryland honored her at the 25th Anniversary celebration in October 2017 for her statewide leadership and impact. She is a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and The Baltimore (MD) Links, Inc.
