Bio

I have worked in both the private sector (banking and IT for 14 years) and the public sector (Fire Service for 4 years and the NHS for 5 years), in a number of Line Management roles and have seen people struggle with stress and anxiety which impacts on their resilience. By building people's self awareness I can support them to develop their personal resilience which enables their management of stress and anxiety, and allows them to develop their self confidence, positive thoughts and behaviours.

I can deliver presentations on a range of personal development topics, to include assertive communication, building resilience, stress management and personality types and am also very happy to discuss your requirements to develop a bespoke presentation for you.

As an experienced Organisational Development Manager I can support individuals and organisations to develop their strength with an effective culture, strong staff engagement and great performance management.

Stress Management and Personality Types

Self awareness is the key to managing stress and anxiety. By understanding your personality type and the personality types of the people around you, you can manage your stress and anxiety levels more effectively, communicate assertively and influence your relationships. In this presentation we look at aspects of stress management and personality types to help build your self awareness and resilience.

The Strength of Introversion

Have you sometimes felt that you don’t have anything to say or don’t have the energy to speak up or socialise in larger groups? Having a personality type with a preference for introversion can make life feel difficult; you may struggle to express yourself and make people listen to you. In this presentation, we look at different aspects of introversion, to help unlock anxiety, build self awareness and confidence, and support assertive communication.

Managing Your Introversion

As a more introverted person you see life in great detail, look internally for answers and so can tend to worry about things that you cannot influence, as well as all the things that you can! This can create a lot of ‘traffic’ in our minds which takes up space for calm, rational thoughts which allow us to enjoy life, manage our stress, communicate clearly and manage our relationships. It’s not impossible for more introverted people to be happy, optimistic and confident, it just takes a slightly different approach. In this presentation we look at various aspects of how we can manage our introversion to help us feel happier, more confident and optimistic.

Confidence for Inner Strength

As more a more introverted person it can be harder to find and build our confidence and self esteem. Our approach to things is quieter and so our voices can sometimes be drowned out my more extraverted voices. We struggle to think in noisy environments and so need to assertively carve out time for our own reflection and development, which can be difficult if we don’t feel very confident and so a vicious cycle develops which can make our own voice feel less valid, to ourselves and others. In this presentation we focus on building confidence and self esteem for more introverted people.

Personal Resilience, Sustainability and Assertive Communication

This presentation focuses on what personal resilience is, how it can be impacted and how it is tied into our values and beliefs. We look at how our personal resilience can be developed and sustained and also consider how it can be impacted by difficult conversations. We consider the impact of different forms of communication and how body language and language can support effective and assertive communication.
