The Art of Delegation

Audience: Recommended for new supervisors, managers, directors, anyone seeking to enhance their leadership influence
Interactive workshop
Recommended Time: 1 – 2 hours
Delivery method: Virtual or In-Person

Delegation is probably the most important skill available to leaders. But so many of us are unclear about what delegation really is. Delegation is not simply assigning someone’s job duties to them and it’s not about getting other people to do the tasks you don’t like. This workshop explores the foundations of effective delegation. As a leader, you’ll learn:
• Why delegation is so important
• How to delegate
• The shift from boss to coach
• What happens when you don’t delegate
• How to ensure accountability after delegating tasks
This is an interactive workshop that uses realistic scenarios to allow participants to consider how they would respond. Participants will practice new skills and create an action plan to sustain their new-found delegation skills going forward.

I'm Too Busy to be Productive!

Intended audience: Employees, supervisors, managers, directors, project teams.
Recommended Time: 2 hours
Virtual or In-person

Where, oh where, does the time go? If you find that you’re stressed, burned out, and not as productive as you used to be, it’s time to re-assess where your energy is going during the day. Today we’re dealing with so many different types of distractions: some are external and some are our own doing, but these distractions take away from our focus and hinder our productivity. In this workshop, beneficial to employees at all levels of your organization, participants will learn:
• Productivity gremlins – the universe of modern-day distractions
• Self-awareness: where does YOUR time go?
• Which distractions take away your focus?
• How to manage distractions
• Tips and strategies for decision-making to streamline the process

and more.

The Leadership Development Imperative

Audience: L & D professionals, HR professionals, consultants, trainers
Good for: Educational conferences, educational workshops, in-house training

Would you be surprised to learn that your first-line supervisors lack the knowledge, skills, and awareness to successfully lead their teams? We’ve all seen this happen: promote those with the most technical expertise to a leadership role, only to see them struggle (& often fail) because they don’t understand management principles. This lack of leadership skill is associated with high turnover rates, low morale, and diminished productivity. In this workshop, Karen Main will share best practices for designing and delivering leadership development in your organization that is not complex and costly but instead is sustainable and effective.
