The 3 most important things in Dr. Kindle’s life are God, her family, and helping others. Jym wants to live in a world where no one goes hungry. In order to fulfill her mission in a literal sense, Dr. Kindle has served as Chief Acquisitions Officer for one of the largest Food Banks in the United States since 2000. She was the first African American hired in a management capacity at the then 27 year old nonprofit organization.
Figuratively, Jym supports a number of other organizations as they work to fill their hunger for knowledge, including the Drug & Crime Free Youth Foundation (DCYF) where she works closely with the board of directors, mentoring youth, writing grants, and representing DCYF at various events. Dr. Kindle works closely with a number of sectarian as well as non-sectarian organizations.
Jym recently served (for the second time) as Area Director for Toastmasters International (a professional speaking and leadership organization) and is a long-time member of Dynamic 90’s Toastmasters where she has earned the highest designation bestowed upon members, Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM). In addition to being a member of the Institute for Supply Management, (ISM), Dr. Kindle is also a member of the American Purchasing Society, where she earned her CPP, (Certified Purchasing Professional designation). She has also earned a CFR (Certified in Food Resources) from Feeding America.
In addition to numerous speaking engagements, Dr. Kindle is the author of the soon to be published book, Gems by Jym. Her favorite quote is by British journalist Alistair Cooke, “A professional is a person who can do his best at a time when he doesn’t particularly feel like it.” She relies on that quote to energize and renew her spirit and body as she traverses through her time here on earth.
Dr. Kindle graduated magna cum laude from Cal State University - Dominguez Hills, and in the upper 10% of while earning her Master’s degree from Pepperdine University.
