I am not your average duck! It's hard to sum me up in a few words - but let's give it a try. Currently, I am making a difference in children's lives as a school social worker in Sacramento California. I have a Master's in Social Work and have over 20 years of experience in social work, mostly working with foster care youth and families.
I am passionate about helping people and have worked in the past as a Divorce Recovery Coach, even writing a memoir, "Travel, Sex, & Train Wrecks." about my own divorce and living life on my own terms by traveling as part of my recovery. I've written articles on the subject for Mind, Body, Green and Huffington Post as well. Speaking of travel, I've been to over 80 countries. I've lived and worked in South Korea, Taiwan, and Russia.
I am currently Mom Extraordinaire to an amazing, spunky, independent, four-year-old mini me! I chose to have her via a sperm donor when I was 40. Best decision I EVER made. She has helped me travel the world - together we have taken on Mexico, Bali, Malaysia, Thailand, and Costa Rica!
As part of my passion to help others I also continue my coaching work, now with women in life transitions, and women who are thinking of becoming a single mom by choice (SMBC), like me! As well as continuing my writing.
I am branching into speaking about redefining the way we view love, marriage, and motherhood by sharing my story as a SMBC. A TEDX talk is on my goal list for 2022!
