Bio

Throughout his 25+ year career as an educator, leader, and speaker, Dr. Huston has embraced an adaptive and collaborative leadership perspective that prioritizes innovation, inclusive communication, and harnessing the potential of powerful partnerships and diverse vantage points.

Early in his career, Huston worked within the bustling Central Florida construction industry, providing project management, financial analysis, and digital information modeling for multi-million dollar commercial and light industrial mechanical projects. It was within this landscape that the true value of collaborative leadership and the partnership dynamics of team coordination emerged for Dr. Huston as transformative aspects of his leadership perspective.

In 2005, under a reciprocal agreement, Huston was selected as a Lockheed Martin TMAST Scholar, studying at the University of Central Florida, bringing his unique leadership perspective to the Education industry in central Florida. Huston earned a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Higher Education Administration from UCF, placing a central focus of his studies on change and conflict management, workforce-integrated partnership development, industry applications of adult learning theory, and organizational strategy and implementation practices. Huston has served in instructional and leadership roles within both the K-12 and collegiate environments providing extensive operational support functions and delivering enterprise-wide transformation through his powerful partnership perspectives. He pioneered a state-leading model of course-integrated academic support that has been replicated nation-wide, dramatically improving student achievement outcomes within college gateway courses.

Within his leadership roles, Dr. Huston has been integral in securing millions of dollars in new funding through partnerships, donors, competitive grants, and state and federal funding sources. A common focus of Huston’s work has been establishing enrollment and employment pipelines by securing powerful community and regional partnerships including work with fortune 500 corporations, state and local governments, regional contractors, businesses, community organizations, and more.

Huston has been the recipient of multiple awards including a two-time recipient of the Pathfinder Award for Outstanding Innovation & Organizational Leadership. He holds degrees in Finance, Mathematics Education, and Educational Leadership, and has delivered presentations, keynotes, and development workshops at all levels from leadership retreats to national-level conferences. Additionally, Huston has facilitated bargaining and negotiation proceedings, brokered partnership agreements and contracts, and delivered world-class workshops and presentations across a diverse spectrum of industries.

ALIGN to Thrive

Most operations struggle with conflict and territorialism.

Yet, thriving operations have very specific identifiers that are extremely recognizable. Put simply, they have unleashed the incredible talent, skills, and capabilities of their teams.

There is an epidemic among organizations seeking change: to persistently overvalue high-priced purchases for improving culture and operations, and to persistently dismiss the value of actions that will actually create change; much of which is actually FREE!

The ALIGN to Thrive program was designed to transcend silos and equip your teams with the tools they need to convert even the most challenging conflicts and territorialism into thriving, collaborative operations capable of generating powerful mutual gains.

If you really want to activate the potential in your teams and generate the type of alignment that produces powerful returns, there is only one answer: INVEST. IN. YOUR. PEOPLE.

Together, let's ALIGN to Thrive!
