Joie Rasberry is an amazing professional business & Christian event speaker. She is the author of two books, ‘From Jensen Drive to Pennsylvania Avenue’ and ‘More Than Half a Century.’ Rasberry was a Public Affairs news radio personality for KTSU 90.9 FM Radio Station whiling interning at KRIV FOX 26 News Television Station.
She has taught Speech & Debate in grade school and coached on the collegiate level. She served as Editor-in-Chief for DMARS Business Journal, Senior Editor for Contemporary Christian Woman Magazine, and serves as a reoccurring contributing writer for Hometown Journey, The Defender, African-American News and Issues, Huffington Post and others.
Rasberry earned a biblical degree from Southwestern Christian College, a degree in Speech Communication & Broadcast Journalism from Texas Southern University (TSU), and was bestowed an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Christian Bible Institute & Seminary. While refusing to take no for an answer, Rasberry went on to break discriminatory barriers placed on females by becoming the first non-traditional student in the history of TSU to win the title of Miss Texas Southern University.
Under the tutelage of the legendary Dr. Thomas F. Freeman, head coach of the Texas Southern University Debate Team, Rasberry competed and traveled around the world, landing in Paris, France, Rome, Italy, Johannesburg, South Africa, Prague, Czech Republic and abroad, bringing back first place wins in speech and debate.
Her amazing journey from Houston’s inner city, to being invited to speak at The White House by way of the Texas Southern University Debate Team, at the request of the President of the United States of America in 2002, is remarkable to say the least. In keeping with a spirit of excellence, Ebony Magazine labeled Rasberry as one of the greatest young speakers of our time.
In addition, she trains celebrities, entertainers, business executives, professional athletes and rising politicians in the areas of Presentational Effectiveness and Speech Delivery. She also serves as speech and ghostwriter.
