I help newcomers to Canada and businesses connect across cultures to succeed in less time and pain. Working as an ESL instructor for several years in Japan taught me about my cultural biases as a Canadian by birth.

Returning to Toronto, I came to realize that cultural competency is essential when in transition, whether it is to a new country or to a different organization.

As the founder of Hiyaku Coaching (which is Japanese for "great progress") I have given talks and facilitated workshops on cross-cultural competency, integrating newcomers, and adapting to Canadian workplace culture.

I have presented for CERIC, the County of Simcoe Economic Department, and NPOs that work with newcomers such as JVS Toronto.
