Jim was inducted into the Wireless History Foundation’s 2021 Class of the Wireless Hall of Fame; he received the 2022 Bill Carlson Lifetime Service Award and was named a 2024 ICON of Idaho Business. He has testified before the US Congress and was trained by Fighter Pilots. He has built multiple businesses both with family and private equity within the real estate and infrastructure industries. Tracy successfully launched, grew and exited several businesses through mergers and acquisition. Jim has a heart for vulnerable people and families and has founded, led and helped shape multiple 501(c)3 nonprofits using his faith based, wireless and aviation networks.

Having bridged the gap between the generations that span from his grandfather 1903 to his youngest granddaughters 2025, Jim relates this 122-year experience to the workplace. Jim is also known as “The Grampion” by his 20 grandkids, and he mentors them. Jim’s Story

Mr. Tracy grew up in rural South Dakota as the 6th of 8 children. He was a welder working in remote locations when he fell head over heels in love and attended the University of South Dakota with his new wife Sarah. Together they have built a family, several successful business exits and worked through 45 years of change and growth. They are the parents of 5 kids and grandparents to 20! Jim spent 30 years in senior management including 23 as CEO of Legacy Telecommunications. He was inducted into the Wireless History Foundation’s Wireless Hall of Fame in 2021. He spent time in private firms, family enterprises and private equity owned ventures. Today he is a keynote speaker, best-selling author, and popular podcaster who helps executive teams execute through strategy, board membership and advisory services!
