Bio

I've spent years navigating the corporate world, but it wasn't until I had a profound realization that everything clicked into place: our relationships—whether with customers, employees, business partners, or the communities we serve—either thrive or falter based on our expectations.

This insight set me on a journey to explore the power of managing expectations and the conversations that bring clarity and focus to our relationships. I've delved into the strategies, practices, and technologies that help us understand, negotiate, and meet expectations, and I'm excited to share what I've learned. Now, I write and speak extensively on these topics.

But there's another side to my story. As a storyteller at heart, I've had the joy of co-creating stories with my children over the years. These tales are woven with themes of positivity, encouragement, self-reflection, and kindness—values that I believe can inspire us all.

I hope that reading my books will bring you as much joy and insight as writing them has brought me. I'm thrilled to share my stories with you and look forward to connecting!

The Expectation Effect: How to Build Sustainable Business Relationships Through Better Conversations

A silent epidemic is eroding your most valuable business asset—trust. Every day, leaders unintentionally damage relationships by mismanaging the expectations that drive people to work for them, buy from them, or partner with them. These missed expectations quietly weaken the conversations that shape loyalty, fairness, and collaboration.

In this thought-provoking keynote, JC reveals how mastering expectation-focused conversations can rebuild trust and transform relationships. By applying the psychology of expectations with intention, leaders can save time, reduce friction, and create lasting value for customers, employees, and partners alike.

Key takeaways:

Explore seven critical conversations that shape business trust.

Learn to improve communication through expectation alignment.

Discover the #1 cause of misunderstanding—and how to prevent it.

It’s Not the CRM — It’s the Conversation: The Human Fix for a Broken System

CRM hasn’t failed because of bad software—it’s failed because of how we think about it. Too many leaders treat CRM as a tracking tool instead of a strategy for building relationships. This “tool-first” mindset breaks the conversations needed to align business goals, customer expectations, and technology adoption.

In this engaging and eye-opening keynote, JC exposes the human side of CRM failure—where good intentions and dashboards collide. Through humor and real-world stories, he reveals how uncovering and aligning expectations transforms CRM from a system of record into a system of relationship.

Key takeaways:

Engage teams in expectation-driven CRM conversations.

Foster collaboration across planning, deployment, and adoption.

Build a sustainable, human-centered CRM strategy.

AI Won’t Fix a Human Problem: The Conversations That Make Technology Work

A dangerous trend is sweeping across industries: the rush to implement AI without considering the human side of adoption. Under pressure to “get ahead,” leaders often ignore the expectations, fears, and resistance of the very people AI is meant to empower. The result? Smart strategies that fail—not from bad algorithms, but from misaligned human expectations.

In this candid and engaging keynote, JC exposes the real barriers to AI success and shows how to overcome them. With humor and practical insight, he reveals how to turn fear into partnership by leading expectation-focused conversations that build trust, confidence, and lasting adoption.

Key takeaways:

Engage people in real conversations about AI.

Address the human psychology behind resistance.

Align technology with human and business goals.
