Born and raised in Homewood, IL, Jason Shepherd dreamed of playing professional baseball for the Chicago Cubs and becoming an accomplished music songwriter and producer. He and his older brother were surrounded by music both at home and at their childhood church where his parents served faithfully.
This foundation not only nurtured his musical talents but also fostered his love for serving people. Jason gave his life to Christ at a young age and became an active part of the youth choir ministry. Upon graduating high school, he entered Columbia College Chicago as a music major and earned a BA in music in 2001.
Jason used his formal music education and his love for the church to begin serving as a Staff Musician and Minister of Music in his childhood church. During this time Jason also felt a strong pull to launch his career as a gospel recording artist. In 2005 he released his first album “Songs Vol. 1” with his group Another Level. This project afforded him the opportunity to write and produce for other artists within the gospel community. His musical efforts have also allowed for him to record and release 5 full albums and multiple singles.
Jason’s passion for serving people through preaching and teaching sparked a desire to go further within ministry. In 2017 Jason became an ordained elder in the Church of God in Christ, making him a 3rd generation “elder” in his family (grandfather, father, uncle, and brother).
In 2018 Jason partnered with his father Josephus and his brother Dr. Jonathan Shepherd to launch the Shepherd Training and Empowerment Institute; a company geared towards leadership development and coaching. This new family endeavor also prompted him to create the life coaching firm “UP Coaching: Unleashed Purpose” to help people create massive visions for their life and develop the necessary tools to act fearlessly in achieving their strategic goals.
Jason married the love of his life Stacie in 2005. They have a genuine friendship and partnership that continues to grow by the day. They have 2 loving children, Brooke and Jonah. Currently residing in Los Angeles, CA, Jason’s mission is for people to discover the perfection that God has placed inside of themselves. He has a goal to reach 50 million people across this world through his music, books, motivational speaking, preaching, and other forms of media content.
